Public Engagement
Communicating with individuals who live with the effects of living with hepatitis C virus is of central importance to HCV Research UK. Primarily, we focus on establishing constructive links with groups and charities who support those living with blood-borne viruses, including hepatitis C virus.
Partnerships with support groups
HCV Research UK has forged links with national charities and groups who provide support to those living with blood-borne viruses, including hepatitis C virus. Among the groups with whom we have partnered are: the Hepatitis C Trust, the British Liver Trust, Hepatitis Scotland and the Terence Higgins Trust.
Projects and events
Through the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research, we have developed a project entitled ‘Unseen Hands’ with the Terence Higgins Trust. Unseen Hands aims to break down barriers and encourage communication to reduce stigma and discrimination associated with living with a blood-borne virus infection.
